Thanks for posting here Yiz - happy to dive a bit more into your profile after your questions on the AWA. Also, jeez! You almost got killed reporting a story! This is by far one of the more engaging profile evaluations I've read in a while!
You've written a lot and my response is going to be short but it'll be short for a good reason. That reason being you have a solid shot at the top 16. Great GMAT, off the beaten path experience, and goals that, at a high level, make sense. You have a bit more work to do on that front but that's ok. That's execution. You have all the pieces you need to make a successful run at the top 16.
The LGBT identification does mean diversity and, if you are in that community, it can be beneficial. But I wouldn't factor that in from the get go. Use it as a measure on the margin.
I know this is a really short post compared to what I usually write but that's because you've got the pieces to the puzzle. Now it's all about how you put it together. Also, you should think about which of the top 16 you want to apply to.
