Statement (1) Every day Guy takes to work 5 more sandwiches that do not contain peanut butter than sandwiches that do not contain ginger jam.
Not sufficient, as we do not know the count of sandwiches that do not have peanut and ginger jam both

Statement (2) Every sandwich Guy takes to work contains peanut butter or ginger jam or both.
We only know the count of sandwiches that do not have peanut and ginger jam both is zero

Not sufficient

Every day Guy takes the same N sandwiches to work. Guy takes to work how many more sandwiches that contain only ginger jam than sandwiches that contain only peanut butter ?

Stat1: Every day Guy takes to work 5 more sandwiches that do not contain peanut butter than sandwiches that do not contain ginger jam.
We don't know, the ground rule if, sandwiches are always with peanut butter or ginger jam or both. Not sufficient

Stat2: Every sandwich Guy takes to work contains peanut butter or ginger jam or both.
No idea about the difference. Not sufficient

Combining both, we have ground rule set. Sufficient

So, I think C. :)

Below is my analysis:

Sandwich can be made with anything--- Ginger Jam, Peanut Butter, Salad, Chicken...etc etc.
Now let us consider,
(1) X= No. of sandwiches containing only Ginger Jam
(2) Y= No. of sandwiches containing only Peanut Butter
(3) Z= No. of sandwiches containing both
(4) U= No. of sandwiches containing some other stuffing ( may/maynot include Ginger Jam/ Peanut Butter).

So as per question, X+Y+Z+U= N. And we have to find X-Y= ?

Now let's come to the options,

Option-1> No. of sandwiches that do not contain peanut butter - No. sandwiches that do not contain ginger jam = 5
==> As we don't have any info about U we cannot deduce anything from this option.

So it's insufficient.

Option-2> N= X+Y+Z

So it's also insufficient.

Combining the options>
We can delete the variable 'U' above and hence from option(1) we can get X-Y=5.

Hence I think answer should be {C}. Please do correct me if I am wrong.
