(A)so slow as to be negligible

Hi, I go with C..

(A)so slow as to be negligible- This is not the proper idiomatic Expression.
(B)so slow so that they can be negligible- So X so- Awkward
(C)so slow that they are negligible- Correct idiomatic expression SO X that Y.
(D)slow enough not to be observed- Wrong
(E)slow enough so that one cannot observe- Same as D

Please post the OA and OE.

I would go with C too.
The correct idiom is: So X that Y

(A)so slow as to be negligible--- So... As to is unidiomatic.
(B)so slow so that they can be negligible---- Can changes meaning. Adds uncertainty which is not needed.
(C)so slow that they are negligible ----- CORRECT.
(D)slow enough not to be observed------ Not to be is incorrect usage. Also Observed changes meaning.
(E)slow enough so that one cannot observe---- Same as D

Thanks.

Can you please specify the source?
"They" is ambiguous here. They can refer to changes or traits or organisms

They can only refer to Changes since its the only logical antecedent.

It can but GMAT usually doesn't allow such ambiguity. Thats what i have noticed in the official questions so far.

I think OA is A

So X That Y is prefered
but
So X as to be Y is also OK

Evolution of species through changes in inherited traits of biological organisms is so slow as to be negligible over many generations

of species through changes.... is a prepositional phrase....because both "of" and "through' are prepositions

In S-V agreement, we can ignore prep phrases....So I think OA is A

I will go with C

What is the OA?

(A)so slow as to be negligible. Incorrect. The expression "So...that..." is not used properly.
(B)so slow so that they can be negligible. Incorrect. Same as A. Also it is awkward.
(C)so slow that they are negligible. Correct. Idiom is used propertly. "so slow that".
(D)slow enough not to be observed. Incorrect. use of word 'observed' changes the meaning.
(E)slow enough so that one cannot observe. Incorrect. use of word 'observe' changes the meaning.

Whats the answer to this one, I chose A thinking " they" has no logical antecedent.
