Per section, how many experiment questions will an individual come across on the GMAT? How many questions will count toward your score on each section?

Good write up on experimentals here: http://www.gmathacks.com/cat-strategy/g ... tions.html

"Depending on who you ask, between 10% and 25% of multiple-choice questions (both Quantitative and Verbal) are experimental."

About a quarter or so questions, but I would not worry about it on the real GMAT - it is best not to try to guess or occupy your mind with this question, I would rather use this knowledge to analyze your gmat prep tests when sometimes it may not make sense when you make 10 mistakes and get 49 and only 45 when you make 5.

Also you should know this and not freak out should you encounter an easy question on your gmat. That could mean a few things -
#1 you hit an easy experimental question
#2 this is a tricky question and looks easier than it is (i would read it a few times)

The previous two posters have hit all the points already, so I will limit my contribution to simply repeating what bb has just advised: don't expend any energy trying to figure out whether a given question is experimental or not. I understand that you started this thread probably out of curiousity, but please don't give this issue too much thought. The best thing to do when confronted with any question on the GMAT is to answer it to the best of your ability.

I'm sure you already knew this, but I just wanted to point this out in order to drive this message home.

Hi guys. I've just completed my first Prem on Princeton Review. I've scored 49Q and 24 Verbal. Overall 600 Points. But it is one issue that I want to point out. I've made 10 mistakes in verbal and 5 mistakes in Quant. Total 15 mistakes. out of all experimental question I've made only 1 mistake (as I've counted there were only 21 total experimental question of wich I was correct on 20). Can I say that it is a bad luck to whole part of mistakes in questions which are assessed, or is it a common issue. Should I adjust it?
