Hi everyone ,
This is my first forum post on my mba journey! I'm in the process of getting all of my school selections finalized and starting a packet for recommenders. I have been at my current company for a little over two years. I know that my current supervisor will write a recommendation for me and will be able to touch on a lot of important skills and traits. I've only been working under her for about 8 months, but I've taken on more responsibility and tackled bigger projects during that time.
But now I'm a little stuck on my second recommender. Do I...
ask my previous supervisor at my current company? I'm not sure if she would be able to provide an alternative perspective and I don't want my recommendations to be redundant.
ask my former boss at my last company? I worked there from 2009-2011. But my position there was very junior and highly administrative. I've grown a lot both personally and career-wise. On the flipside - I know that he thought very highly of me, my work ethic, and the work I did there. He's an experienced recommendation writer as well.
Do most schools frown on peer-reviews? I work very closely with a small group of colleagues and think that any one of them could provide a more unique perspective on my leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
