'bringing' indicates the effect of sea eagles leaving..hence "A"

I eliminated B because I just read it as Eagles bring and it couldn't be brings. Is that incorrect? I was just between A and E and picked the wrong one as usual when stuck between two choices.

I have a question here. Since a comma+ing modifier should make sense with the doer of the sentence, does 'bringing' make sense with Eagles? Did Five fledging eagles do the task of bringing? They did not. It is the result of the 'fledging' though.

Yes, the eagles themselves didn't directly bring the number to 34.But they left their nests, and that action (of leaving the nest) brought the number to 34.

Thanks
