I'm choosing between C and D (A, B, and E are irrelevant)

Seems like "eating at least one apple each day will prevent heart disease" is for 100% sure (but we can't be 100% sure on that) whereas "at least one type of flavonoid helps to prevent heart disease" which is less intense in wording and correct according to the question stem.

Answer is D.

Why cant be answer choice 'E'

Hi Chiru404,

E is out of scope since we don't talk about common causes of heart diseases.

We talk only about antioxidants being a factor in the prevention of heart disease.

Prevention is not equal cause.

A-->B doesn't mean B-->A

Hope this will help.

D)

Since a specific variety of Flavonoids in apples are found to be an antioxidant and antioxidants are known to be a factor in prevention of heart disease.

Linking all the points above-At least one type of flavonoid helps to prevent heart disease.

Thanks

Option A :- Too strong..."will help"..
Option B :- Too strong.."are essential"..
Option C :- Too strong..."will prevent"...
Option D :- moderate and correct option..."helps to prevent"...
Option E :- too generalised..."..a common cause.."
Give me kudos if you like my explanation...
