Hi All,

I have just started my preparation for GMAT. My intent is to make exam attempt around Dec second week.

Currently reviewing Official GMAT Verbal Review 2018.

It will be nice to connect with people in the area going through prep.

Hi Sahil,

The initial CAT is important, so you should make sure to take it relatively soon and in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Until we have that score, we'll have no idea of what you'll need to work on to hit your score goal. As an aside, the 760+ score is the 99th percentile - meaning that 99% of Test Takers never score that high (regardless of how long they study or the number of times that they take the GMAT). Thankfully, NO Business School requires a score that high - so it's important to realize that the score that you "want" and the score that you "need" are not the same thing.

Hi smengi312,

If you're interested in forming/joining a study group, you might want to post a message here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-study-groups-4/

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,

Thanks for valuable guidelines. I want to do a week/two of brushing up, before initial CAT, with intent to rule out a crushing outcome given out of practice, specifically with Quants.
