Foodmart customers regularly buy at least one of the following products: milk, chicken, or apples. 60% of shoppers buy milk, 50% buy chicken, and 35% buy apples. If 10% of the customers buy all 3 products, what percentage of Foodmart customers purchase 2 of the above products?

A) 5%
B) 10%
C) 15%
D) 25%
E) 30%

I know how to solve this using set theory. Can someone show me the Venn diag approach?

Something is missing here.

All three Venn Circles add up to 60+50+35 =145

10% customers buy all 3 ..

So we are left with

145-10= 135

So 35% customers should buy atleast 2 products.

But I don't see 35 as a choice.. What am I missing??

Be careful. The question is asking for "only 2 products". You are giving a number of "2 products or more". I have seen too many people make this mistake...the answer should be 35-10=25

60+50+35 - (only two) - 2*10 = 100
Only two = 25%

i had the same equation above as you, bkk, but end up with the answer as 30 %

can someone further explain the venn diagram approach? I have the 145 and the 10, but why do you subtract another 10?

i didnt do the venn, but used the equation approach and got 25
