i was confused between "disdain of" and "disdain for". din't know which one of these is idiomatic...............

All other choices except A have one grammatical error or the other..so even if you were confused between disdain for and disdain of..you could have still eliminated the choices on the basis of other errors.

This is just a suggestion in case one gets too caught up focusing on a particular aspect.. try taking your mind off and see if there are other more easily spottable errors and move on..
