4x^2 -6xy - 12y^2 -8x^2 +12xy - 4y^2 = -->minus sign applies to all the 2nd parentheses.

4x^2 -8x^2 -6xy +12xy - 12y^2 - 4y^2 = -->solve

-4x^2 +6xy - 16y^2 --> I think it's answer B
