(A) even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(B) despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(C) even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous
(D) although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
(E) even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents

Seemingly, C and D are both ok.

Hi okdongdong,

You are right in narrowing down the choices to C and D. A and B don't make sense. E is too wordy. D is wrong, as it it changes the tense unnecessarily (although they could....)

I concur with the crowd. C it should be.

okdongdong,

What is the source of these questions?

Why I am asking this is because from my point of view, THAT should be embedded after appliances to make the meaning clear. In spoken english, it is all right but I think, from grammar point of view, you need THAT to clearly complete the sentence.

What do you guys think???

To riteshgupta1,
The questions are from old GMAT paper tests. They are really challenging, are not they?
