Will go with C

(A) even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
Wrong! clause after even if requires a subject

(B) despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
Wrong! despite can be used as a preposition which means it needs a noun or pronoun to modify. "despite they being able to ..." wud have sounded more idiomatic

(D) although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
"would have" as in C is better. it introduces conditional meaning (OG152)

(E) even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents
wordy!

C for me too.

would + have + past participle in C is the right construction.

My answer choice will be D.
"Although" gives a much better meaning to the clause as compared to "even if"

Whats the OA?

Same reason as srijay007, but I would go with E. I think a "which" is missing in C.

I also like C. It seems to me that miraculous is required here. Anyone know the correct answer?

dj, Srijay, everyone,
Doesn't it sound odd without a "which"?

For many people, household labor remains demanding even if they can afford household appliances [, which] their grandparents would have found miraculous
