Kudos for a correct solution.

Sum of the roots of a quadratic equation $$ax^2+bx+c=0$$ = -b/a
Product of the roots of a quadratic equation $$ax^2+bx+c=0$$ = c/a

Thus, per the question, -k/1=-6/1 ---> k = 6. Hence C is the correct answer.

Sum of the roots of a quadratic equation = -b/a
Product of the roots of a quadratic equation = c/a

As per the question, -k/1=-6/1=> k = 6. Hence, C is the correct answer.
