:stupid2

Pls, explain

(A) awkward
(B) "exonerated with freedom" does not make sense. You exonerate a person and free them, you don't exonerate them 'with' freedom.
(D) tense
(E) awkward, worse than (C)

Should be C.
C follows the right tense.
Also ,one is exonerated and then given freedom.
