Hey Guys!

I got accepted into Bentley University (USA) and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (FSFM) in Frankfurt, Germany. I am pretty confused about which one to go for.
At FSFM it is a Msc Finance course, which enjoys a good ranking but I'm worried about the importance of German fluency. The uni provides classes to learn german, but I don't know if almost native fluency is possible in 2 years. Any thoughts? At Bentley it's an emerging leader MBA and a dual degree in Finance. I don't have much experience

I am considering Germany because honestly the US visa situation post the program isn't looking very positive right now. Any insight?
I'd appreciate any replies/advice as soon as possible before I book my us visa interview!!
Thanks

If you don't speak German then going to Germany would be a massive mistake. Close to native fluency is required. Also, EU visa policies for non-EU workers are more stringent than US visa policies. If you are doing an MBA and and MSF at Bentley then it might be worth it but just an MSF at Bentley is not worth the money as you have just in the Boston area schools like MIT, BC and Brandeis that have better MSF programs.

Yes that's true but FSFM seems to have rather impressive stats, with a 99% placement rate! So that has definitely been swaying me. Another thing is, I have heard that Bentley is just okay.. in terms of its students getting jobs. I don't know if I should look at the country or the university at this point

I don't think FSFM is really recognized or the prestige translates outside Germany or German speaking regions. 99% does not mean ****. It only means everyone gets a job. I mean you do get a job. It matters the quality of that job, the firm you are gonna work in and also what country you are going be performing that job. As I said before, I am gonna reiterate if you don't speak German FSFM would be a massive mistake unless you think you can find a job in India which justifies the cost of attending.

I wouldn't really recommend going to Bentley either.

The thing is, I have to go this year. There are some personal reasons for this but I have to make a choice! I'm leaning towards Bentley because it's the US but I don't know if that's how I should be looking at it. I'd rather have a mediocre job than no job. At Bentley I have the option of switching the MBA +MSF for an MBA + MS in Business Analytics, which seems to be an indemand course.

Hello,

FSFM has a good reputation in Germany, maybe also known in the rest of Europe. Frankfurt is the "finance-capital" of Germany, so many finance graduates try to start working there. I think as a FSFM graduate its easy to find a job here, but i dont know anything about the chances outside of Germany (especially outside of Europe). Most of the courses are tought in german and as you might know german is a difficult language.

If you dont want to work in Germany or Europe I would go to the USA.

Hello, thanks for the input. Well, this course is taught in english so that isn't an issue. I'm just worried about international student placement, especially if their german is not very good.
