Solution

Given:
    • Fresh fruits contain 72% of water by weight, and
    • Dry fruits contain 20% of water by weight

To find:
    • The number of kgs. of dry fruits that can be obtained from 100 kgs. of fresh fruits

Approach and Working:
Let us assume that the number of kgs. of dry fruits that can be obtained from 100 kgs. of fresh fruits = x
    • So, (100 – 20)x = (100 – 72) * 100
      o Implies, 80x = 2800
    • Therefore, x = \(\frac{2800}{80} = 35\)

Hence, the correct answer is Option D

Answer: D
