Fuel tanker A can fill the underground reservoir in 12 minutes. How long will it take fuel tanker A and fuel tanker B to fill up the same reservoir together?

(1) The reservoir contains 3000 liters of fuel.
(2) Fuel tanker B alone will require the same number of hours to fill the same reservoir.

Statement 1) Does not specify the rate of Tanker B. Choice A) & C) ruled out.
Statement 2) Fuel tanker B fills the reservoir in the same no of hours as tanker A. (i assume the statement refers to Tanker A for comparison)
i.e A & B can independently fill the tanker in 12mins.
Together they will fill in 6mins.

Choice B) is correct. Statement 2) alone is sufficient to ans the question.

Given: A can fill a reservoir in 12 miniyes
Required: How much time will A and B take together to fill the reservoir

Statement 1: The reservoir contains 3000 liters of fuel
INSUFFICIENT

Statement 2: Fuel tanker B alone will require the same number of hours to fill the same reservoir
This means that B fills the reservoir in 12 minutes too.
Hence A and B will together fill it in half the time.
SUFFICIENT

Correct Option: B

Gives us the total volume and thus by calculation, the rate of A ; but provide us no info about B neither its rate nor time taken
INSUFFICIENT

(2) Fuel tanker B alone will require the same number of hours to fill the same reservoir
Tells us that time of A and B are same and thus by inverse their rate is same . they both will do equal work, no matter how much the volume of the underground reservoir is therefore the TOTAL time taken will always be half of time of A = 12/2 = 6 minutes.

SUFFICIENT
