Hello all. Sadly, this is my first post on GMAT club. I am an avid reader, but because of my odd circumstance I find it hard to consistently contribute to the conversation. My reason is this: I am currently an undergraduate Sophomore. Yet this is something I can use to my advantage. I have essentially calculated my expected profile outcome, and brought it here for evaluation. I want to know the strengths and weaknesses of my profile as I still have time to change them.
Currently, I see my profile and think it is (relatively) average. There is nothing that really drives me
in to any given school, but I feel I'm "good" in most categories. Do you agree/disagree? What can I do to separate myself from the pack?
EDUCATIONMarketing & MIS Major, University of Minnesota (Carlson)
3.65 GPA
GMAT680-720 (for sake of argument, we could say 700)
EXTRACURRICULARS-2-Year President of local American Marketing Association Chapter
-Actively involved in Habitat for Humanity, including holding officer positions
-Various other activities, including being involved in a church community, a week long mission trip, miscellaneous volunteering experiences, and club membership.
WORK EXPERIENCE4 years serving as Marketing Analyst for Proctor & Gamble. Also had several Marketing Internships throughout college.
PERSONAL PROFILE26 year old Caucasian male.
**Target Schools**
My dream career is Brand Management, and ideally I'd like to be able to land at one of these "Elite" B-schools:
-Duke (Fuqua)
-Cornell (Johnson)
-Michigan (Ross)
-UCLA (Anderson
What are the odds I could get in to one of these colleges? And, more importantly, what more could I add to improve my chances of acceptance? Remember I'm still an undergraduate, so a lot of these are still flexible.
Also, what could I do to get into a school such as HBS/Northwestern/Chicago/Penn... Score higher on the GMAT? And at what point would my score be good enough for me to start thinking of applying there, 720?
Much thanks and Kudos to all who give helpful responses to my strange situation
