Does one need to explain the Gap between Graduation and First Job..??

I had a gap of 6 months..due to Job hunt and travelling ...

Does this deserve an explanation in the Optional Essay ?

I don't think it needs a specific explanation, but you could mention the traveling as an influential experience in your life (if it was) and then it would be implied

Either spin it into a positive travel global experience or just have a single sentence somewhere that explains the gap.
