I would like, and pretty much need, to take the GMAT in 5 weeks. My goal is to get a score of 650. The study resources I have been using are:

Kaplan GMAT Premier 2011
The Official Guide 12th Edition
Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook
Kaplan GMAT 800
The 2 ETS Practice tests.

At this point, my GMAT practice test scores are hovering around 600, maybe 610. My verbal score is in the high 30's and my quantitative score tends to be in the low 30's. I am not overly concerned about my verbal score. I am a native english speaker and my score so far on verbal seems pretty good. My quantitative score is where I think I need the most work.

I just ordered the Official Guide 13th edition and the Manhattan GMAT Number Properties and Word Translations books. On one hand, I think I should spend most of my study in going over the problems in the official guide. I have completed doing most of the problem solving and soon I will start the data sufficiency questions. But, on the other hand I think maybe I need to spend more time on reviewing concepts in order to push my score to 650. That is why I just ordered the two Manhattan GMAT books. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should be spending my remaining study time? And, do you think I have a good shot of being able to hit 650 in the next 5 weeks? Thank you.

You can definitely improve 50 points in 5 weeks - easy.
I would get the MGMAT Math Foundations - second edition of the book just came out this week. The kaplan math workbook is great too - you can see my suggestions for questions to pay special attention to here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R145GKA5BT ... ive=390957

P.S. OG 13 is not yet - you probably got the OG 12. otherwise, you may end up waiting till april for OG 13

Thanks for the encouragement and the link to recommended questions for the Kaplan Math workbook. Also, for recommending the MGMAT Math Foundations book. I will place an order for that now.

So given that I have the following resources, where do you think I should spend my time over the next 5 weeks?:

Kaplan GMAT Premier 2011
The Official Guide 12th Edition
Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook
Kaplan GMAT 800
The 2 ETS Practice tests.
MGMAT Number Properties(ordered.)
MGMAT Word Translations(ordered.)
MGMAT Math Foundations(just ordered.)

Thank you.

bb,

As I said, I am looking for your advice on where I should spend my study time over the next 5 weeks in order to reach my goal of 650? Please let me know what you think.

For example, I am thinking of continuing to plow through the questions in the official guide and mix in the MGMAT books when I can. But, maybe this is not the optimal approach.

Also, I printed off your list of Math questions that I should pay particular attention to in the Kaplan Math workbook.

Finally, you were right about OG13. I got OG11 in the mail today from Amazon. I sent it back, since I already have OG12.

Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it!
