As per my knowledge they are the most difficult ques one would ever see on gmat....If you are getting an accuracy of 30/37 average on all test..equals to 48+ Q score..

Any recommendations about taking these tests before any prior studying? Kind of as a diagnostic tool?

I would imagine that they could be taken multiple times, although it would help if someone could confirm this.

Hello Sir,

The Gmat club tests are too good. Ihave just taken 2 and i can already see where i'm making mistakes .
But what im worried about is this, from the forums i believe that a good score in gmat challenge would fetch >47 in quants in the real gmat.

The gamt keeps updating may every month or so,do the gmat club tests reflect the changes or the toughness quotient.

Hello Folks,

I bought premium membership to get access to club tests, infact I got confirmation mail too. However, with this user id, I'm unable to access any of the premium tests. Can someone look in to this issue?

Hello guys,

one quick query: how the difficulty level of these tests should be compared to those of MGMAT Advanced Quant? Which set should I take first?

Regards

I have been out of school for a long time, and have forget the basics..
kindly advise me when should i take these tests, once i am completely exhausted all other resources or just after brushing the basics?..
i plan of giving gmat next year, i have started my journey a lot earlier as other aspects of my application are not top '20 schools' worthy, so i plan to study for 8 months / 20 hrs per week.

Thank you for the free GMAT Club tests today. It's much appreciated and extremely helpful.
Quick questions
1. Are the GMAT Club tests computer adaptive?
2. How accurate is the percentile %? It seems really low for me.
3. Is there a scoring chart for the % correct other than the percentile ranking?

Thank you.

Thank you - no you do not. It seems something appears to be off.
I am looking into it. Sorry about that. the new test system must have a conflict somewhere.

Thank you,

Hello Moderators

I have started my preps a month back and while I took the GMATclub free test M-25, the result shows 32 correct out of 37 (98% / 51). Additionally, my result for the free verbal test V-06 shows 28 correct out of 41 (99% / 45). Could you throw some pointers on the overall difficulty level of these tests as well as their alignment with the actual GMAT in general? Q51, V45 to me looks a bit too nice at the start of my preps; although I would like to score around 740'ish on my actual exam, if not more.

Also, I took the Manhattan Gmat free CAT#1 and scored 680. How would you rate that? I am writing GMAT in Jan, 2013.

Thanks.
Prakhar

I migrated my subscription to the new CATs, but is there any way to go back to the old problem sets? I thought that they provided a more realistic representation of the actual test because the level of difficulty skipped around (much like the experimental problems pop up during the real gmat). I averaged 30 correct on the old tests, and now I'm 18/37 on my first 2 cats.

My first GMAT attempt was a very forgettable one. I made the same mistake that many people make. Let me cite the example of a body builder. Just as one shouldn't use light weights to build muscles, one shouldn't focus on merely attempting a large number of questions to get a good GMAT score. Practicing easy questions just tones your muscles. To build muscle mass ,one has to lift heavy weights.

Most tests out there (apart from the MGMAT CAT tests) contain questions that don't really prepare you for the GMAT.

GMAT CLUB tests are just the opposite- They make you "think" - note the emphasis. Note - that GMAT Quant section is NOT a math test, rather the GMAT is a test of QUANTITATIVE REASONING - BIG BIG DIFFERENCE. The test is DESIGNED to punish people who lack reasoning skills.

The GMAT is never ever about 'busy' math. One has to peel back the layers of each question and beneath these layers, lie the "keys" to the kingdom. What is really wonderful about the GMAT club tests is that, the answer to any question that looks stupendously complex, doesn't exceed 4-10 lines . There are many times that i caught myself smiling at the simplicity of the solution. Math was no longer a chore, it became something that i look forward to.

It is my opinion that the GMAT club tests are a fantastic study tool for the GMAT. One should use the MGMAT guides to first learn and understand the concepts and then use the GMAT club tests to validate one's understanding. For my second attempt, i used GMAT club tests as the primary source of test questions.

I was able to build enough 'Math muscles' to score a Q48 . A Q48 is definitely not an earth shattering score. However, let me point that the last time that i was in a Math class of any kind was in the final year of my engineering course - 1999 (about 13.5 moons ago). I had to start from the lowest rung on the ladder.
Now the Q48 looks wonderful, doesn't it .

If i can be out of high school for close to 19 years and still get a very very decent score, Imagine what you can achieve.

I am not affiliated to the GMAT club test in any manner. I am certainly indebted to this wonderful forum for becoming my one stop shop for all things GMAT.
