My first GMAT attempt was a very forgettable one. I made the same mistake that many people make. Let me cite the example of a body builder. Just as one shouldn't use light weights to build muscles, one shouldn't focus on merely attempting a large number of questions to get a good GMAT score. Practicing easy questions just tones your muscles. To build muscle mass ,one has to lift heavy weights.

Most tests out there (apart from the MGMAT CAT tests) contain questions that don't really prepare you for the GMAT.

GMAT CLUB tests are just the opposite- They make you "think" - note the emphasis. Note - that GMAT Quant section is NOT a math test, rather the GMAT is a test of QUANTITATIVE REASONING - BIG BIG DIFFERENCE. The test is DESIGNED to punish people who lack reasoning skills.

The GMAT is never ever about 'busy' math. One has to peel back the layers of each question and beneath these layers, lie the "keys" to the kingdom. What is really wonderful about the GMAT club tests is that, the answer to any question that looks stupendously complex, doesn't exceed 4-10 lines . There are many times that i caught myself smiling at the simplicity of the solution. Math was no longer a chore, it became something that i look forward to.

It is my opinion that the GMAT club tests are a fantastic study tool for the GMAT. One should use the MGMAT guides to first learn and understand the concepts and then use the GMAT club tests to validate one's understanding. For my second attempt, i used GMAT club tests as the primary source of test questions.

I was able to build enough 'Math muscles' to score a Q48 . A Q48 is definitely not an earth shattering score. However, let me point that the last time that i was in a Math class of any kind was in the final year of my engineering course - 1999 (about 13.5 moons ago). I had to start from the lowest rung on the ladder.
Now the Q48 looks wonderful, doesn't it .

If i can be out of high school for close to 19 years and still get a very very decent score, Imagine what you can achieve.

I am not affiliated to the GMAT club test in any manner. I am certainly indebted to this wonderful forum for becoming my one stop shop for all things GMAT.

Hi

How do the Verbal tests by GMAT Club rate in terms of the difficulty level. I just gave my first free test today. I scored a 40 on the test. Is this a decent score ?

Thanks in advance for replying

Hello,

My name is Pierre and I am new to this forum (first post) -- I have finally decided to take the GMAT and have been preparing for nearly 2 months. I just took the M25 to see if I'd like to purchase the entire set.

Question: Is there anyway to "sort" the responses by test number? In other words, if I'd like to bring up all the discussions regarding Test M25, how do I do that?

Thanks,
P.

P.S. Can I get a promotion code to purchase test pack?

Some users may find some of the tests tougher than the others. This usually has to do with personal math strengths and weaknesses.

After mastering the basics you need to practice more and more. If you score high in GMAT Prep you'll likely score similarly in the real GMAT. You'll find a lot of valuable strategy info in this forum:

Hope this helps you guys.

How are Verbal tests in the challenge ?

I saw many reviews regarding Math section but nothing for Verbal. Can anybody point me to links for Verbal challenge review or in general tell me how it is against the GMAT ?

I'm assuming you've tried the free sample (v06)?
http://gmatclub.com/tests/v06

I haven't dug into the verbal challenges yet, still plugging on my math. As you've read, the math challenges are solid, so I'd expect the verbal will be similarly productive.

Unfortunately, we don't have this feature available right now. What you can do is searching this forum for threads containing "m25" in there titles. You can find the search link in the top right corner of the screen.

Welcome to the community! We're sure you'll find a lot of valuable info in here.

Another quick question --

Are the 25 Math tests "ordered" in a certain way? e.g, from easy to difficult.. etc.. or completely random?

Thanks,
P.

How do you 'search' for a topic? For example, if I want to see all the discussions on the M04 test.. if I type "m04" in search box, nothing comes up. However, I know for a fact that there ARE a few discussions on this test..

Thanks,
P.

Thanks for all the prompt replies recently.

I apologize in advance if I'm not posting this question in the correct place -- I've been heavily preparing for the GMAT (in 3 weeks), for the past 2 months. I feel pretty confident with verbal, and have been hitting Q pretty hard. I recently purchased the GMAT Club Tests, and have finished M1-5. My results are pretty terrible so far (40-50%ile) but I'm learning from mistakes.

Here's my question: After thorough review of Combination/Permutations, I am still totally confused. I've read multiple books, reviewed courses, and even looked at youtube lectures! IS there a certain section on this forum dedicated to these problems, or perhaps a certain review book anyone can recommend?

Often, I think a problem is a typical "probability" -- but then the answer involves weird permutation/combination. Are there any 'clues' or short-cuts.. any tell-tale signs as to how to solve these common problems?

Again, sorry if this is not the place to post this question.. test is nearing, and I'm beginning to get frazzled!

P.

My understanding is that GMAT club tests (Quant) are supposed to be as difficult, if not more than the real GMAT. Does that mean that these questions are designed for those who are hoping to score in the very upper levels of Quant, say 48+?

If that's the case, won't those questions be out of the league of someone currently scoring in the 35-40 range?

Is there a simple way to export the results of the GMAT Club tests with the category of each problem? I'm trying to keep an error log based off the results, and hone in on my weaknesses, but it seems like there is only an Excel sheet for the Diagnostic Test. Suggestions?

thx.

Hey everyone!

I recently bought the GMAT Club Tests and have done a few of the quant tests these last days. I know that they have the reputation of being harder than the real thing but does this mean also that it's normal if you get a lower score? I have always got between Q45-48 on MGMAT CATS yet here in the gmatclub tests I am only getting Q35-38.... !? I tried looking up some older posts on this matter but it seems that the gmatclub tests have been recently changed.

Some feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you
