Complete noob here at the moment, just ordered my material (OG, MGMT, GMAT Club Grammar, Kaplan Premier) and putting everything together.

Why do none of the error logs include a place to include the actual question number? I see "source", "answer given" and "OA", but nowhere to record the actual question number. Am I blind?

Otherwise, incredibly useful tool! Will definitely be using one of these.

I am using "friendly_error_log_v2_by_saruba.xls". It is really a good tool to keep track of my performance (question practice) in GMAT prep. I inputted data of around 300 questions in it.
Recently, I have come across the "Awesome_Error_Log_V2.1.xls", which actually is capable of quenching my thirst of info needs/data analysis even better.
Now, my issue of dilemma is: Should I keep using the SAME error log (friendly_error_log_v2_by_saruba.xls) that I have been using for last two months and that has some pitfalls (IMO) instead of using the more efficient one OR should I start using the NEW error log (Awesome_Error_Log_V2.1.xls) from now on that has a better way of serving information?

Thanks!

Hi,

I am currently using the MGMAT Archer because I reckon it is easier. I am wondering, whether there is a tool similar to the MGMAT ARCHER?

I like the fact that you just choose your answer from A-E in the OG books and the MGMAT archer will automatically know what topic that question covers.

I tried the error logs here very briefly, and I noticed that it doesn't work the same way. Is there anything like that? I'll need it for my OG-Quant Version1 of the book.

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to the site but am really impressed.

I just downloaded an error log and while I get the idea I imagine there is a best way to use this in studying. Could someone point me in the direction of a post that elaborates on using the error log effectively or explain?

Hi,

I am trying to use the error log and have entered the data. But somehow stats are not getting generated for me in the error log. Does anyone know what am I supposed to do to get the stats? I am using "Awesome Error log 2.1" on MS Excel 2007.

Did you scroll up on the Stats Tab of the spreadsheet?
If that does not help, Post your error log here for me to take a look.

Well, we have this tool too: gmat-club-guide-to-the-gmat-official-guide-12th-ed-85956.html

I think it may be helpful to combine the two to get the same functionality that Archer has but then why copy? Isn't it free on MGMAT?

Hi BB,

Thanks for looking into the matter.

Please find attached file. I did scroll up and try couple of things before I posted on this forum.

To your question about Macro, I was enabling using the option that comes on top of the file when one opens the file for the first time. I am not sure if there is another way of enabling Macros in an Excel file.

Attached file has few entries, some with all the details whereas others with few details missing. But I think I have enough number of entries to generate stats.

After I clicked on verbal button to generate stats, the whole Excel sheet turned red, and one row I noticed was grey. I am not sure if it was trying to point me to an error that I made while entering the data.

Please let me know if you spot any problems in the file.

Sure. One issue I can see right now is the column for "Correct/Incorrect" has a wrong formula (or actually none at all)

For the first line/answer It should be: =IF(ISBLANK(F5),"",IF(F5=L5,1,0))

Not sure how it got lost.... once you fix that, it should start working. if not, we can keep debugging but I think it may be easier to download a fresh copy and start over...

I followed the easier path and now I am able to generate the reports. Thanks BB!

Some awesome Error log was created by saruba and spoilt .
you can refer these logs.
if you can create your own Error Log, that will be the best .
but many people generally face, how 1 should start, what to include and what to leave.
you can refer to many Error Logs attached in this Forum.
