Do you happen to have the ppt version of this? I want to create a Kindle book using these flashcards, but it's really hard with the PDF file.

Also @seemagupta40, STOP spamming with your GMAT resources link—which just has a bunch of ads with not much information. If you really think people should visit your site, post some useful stuff and place those links in your signature, please dont troll. You've been warned, one more post like - search.php?author_id=32889&sr=posts I will make sure you get kicked off from this forum.

Re: GMAT Flashcards [#permalink]
This is a great resource, thanks to the authors!

I'm sorry if this has been covered before, I tried to search for it in the posts and looked under best replies but didn't find anything.

On page 22, Powers 5, it says 3^3^3=3^27, I thought that when an exponent is raised to an exponent you multiply them together so 3^3^3=3^9. Does the card have an error or am I incorrect?

Thanks

Re: GMAT Flashcards [#permalink]
Hey bb, thank you so much for the pdf! major help for studying!

a couple of issues that I found
- page 48 of the pdf (slides 31 and 32): in the question it asks for A(5, 4) and B(2, 3) but in the answer it shows A(5, 4) and B(6, 3).
>> the same problem in the GMATToolKit iPhone app flashcard #83 under GMAT Club's Quant shows the same question but instead of showing B(6, 3) in the answer it shows B(2, 3), but the same answer as if it were (6, 3).

.. hope that made sense.

Anyway, thank you so much for the site and providing all that you do!

Thanks a lot BB for the good job done. I am new to GMAT and this wonderful club full of kind and helpful members. I am planning to write GMAT and I aim to pass it with a score of 700+. I am still trying to figure out how to go about it and I know that, the resources available here will be of great help to me.
Thanks, again, to you BB and to all the great members of this club. May God richly bless you!

The office of 120 is split between male and female

In your matrix you drew, where are you getting 45 and 75? It just seems like you are pulling them out of thin air.

Note: Above question was posted by RyanP, though I have the same question.

Answer provided was:

the ratio is 3:5, so that means if you divide 120 by (3+5), you will get 15.
Now multiply 3 by 15 and 5 by 15 and you get those numbers (yes, out of thin air though with the help of some math)

Can someone please explain the reason why you can do 120 / by (3+5)? Also any alternative solution to this type of question without drawing a matrix? Thanks!

Let us say that the no of male employee is 3x.So the no of female employees would be 5x (male/Female=3x/5x=3/5)
Therefore total no of employees would be 3x+5x=8x.Also given that total no of employees is 120
so 8x=120=> x=15
hence no of male= 3x=3*15=45
and no of female = 5x=75
Hope this clears

Re: GMAT Flashcards [#permalink]
Apologies if this is already addressed but

Quant Flash Card on GMAT ToolKit app for iphone has an error on the "Average 2" problem, which states
"
The average of 10 consecutive integers is 12....
"
Average of even consecutive integers cannot be an integer.

I see that this has already been corrected in the pdf version for GMAT Flashcards v7.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. It would be great if you upload SCRIBD latest version of flashcards here on the forum as well.

On Page 20, I am pretty sure that it is 1A=2Ds.. So I think the answer should be 1:2 and not 2:1

No, the answer is 2:1. If a = 2d, then a:d=2:1.

What is the ratio of a to d if 2a=3b, 1/2*b=2c, and 3c=d?

A) 1:2
B) 2:1
C) 2:3
D) 4:3
E) 1:5

2a = 3b --> a = 3/2*b
1/2*b = 2c --> b = 4c, thus a = 3/2*4c = 6c.

Therefore, a/d = 6c/3c = 2.

Answer: B.
