Hi ak11,
I know that we've already discussed the first part of your question, but there might be some other people viewing this thread, so I've included that answer here:
At this point, Business Schools all seem fine with the concept of the At-home Exam - and no School or Program has voiced any major concerns about comparing that Score to a traditional result from a Test Facility. There's no way to know if that perspective might change in the future though. All things considered, if you are strong overall applicant who took the At-home GMAT (and scored well on it), then I would assume that a School would not "look down" on your application because of that. Many Schools currently don't care much about the AWA; as long as you score at least a 4.0 (out of 6.0), then you would be fine. The fact that the At-home Exam does NOT include an AWA doesn't seem to bother Business Schools right now. It's possible that you might be asked to write an additional essay in the future (when you apply) - but that too is not something that we can predict at this point.
If you wanted a School to see your AWA Score from a prior attempt (taken at a Test Center), then the only practical option to get that information to a School would be to pay to grant that School access to your Official Score Report. All things considered, that seems like an unnecessary expense - although if you're truly concerned about this, then you could ask the Admissions Reps from that School if they wanted to see your AWA Score - and then act accordingly.
