Congratulations! Yes, it is an interesting data point. I have seen a number of folks do better on the test-center test.
Not sure what to attribute it to. Any thoughts/theories/etc?

Sorry if this the wrong forum but I want to know if like GMAT, GRE can also be double booked for online and offline testing. Thank you.

Was the level of difficulty any different? Is the difference not attributable more to the nervousness of self while one is being recorded during online GMAT?
I also think that there are many people who feel an equal level of anxiety in the exam room at the test center because of the exam ambiance and hence, they would prefer online GMAT over the test center one?

For my experience, I ended my online exam and my in person exam with having felt in a good place so it was very shocking to have the spread of scores. I felt my temperament going into each exam was similar as well. Interesting point about maybe the unrealized anxiety of seeing yourself in the recording window being distracting/stressor. I also felt the test center had some similar distractions/stressors with all the covid protocols and people consistently entering and leaving the center combined with having to drive a far distance in bad weather.

Crazy times we are in! Looking forward to finishing applications.

Hi jessmur1,
What made you take the exam the very next day?
I suppose your experience was similar - similar temperament or pros n cons of online offline - and we don’t get the online result the very same day ?

Was it instinctive or just to secure your result

That's really quite interesting to note :) Whatever may be the reason, this discrepancy should not be there in the first place :(

And hey, congrats on your +90 points score.!

Hi,
I am currently in Italy and I have a residence permit in Italy (student), but my passport is Vietnamese. So when I register for GMAT online test, does it make any difficult to verify the location? Did anyone take online test in the different country from the passport country?

In the first step of registration for the exam, which address should I write?

"Address and Telephone

*Country/Region of Residence:

Select one...
*Address 1:
Address 2:
Address 3:
*City:
ZIP Code:
*Primary Telephone Number:
Country Calling Code:+
Country Codes
Extension:
*Mobile Telephone Number:
Country Calling Code:+
Country Codes"

minhngoc310,

No, it won't make difference if you are living in a country other than your home country. You need to provide present location and address where you are living currently in Region of Residence/Country.

Country of Citizenship should be your own country i.e. Vietnamese.

As per your current address, you will be charged for GMAT Exam e.g. Tax on GMAT exam. That's how I filled my information.

I had applied for it, but I believe that offline test would be more feasible. Although I am positive about it and hope that I will secure some Athletes based admission.

I didn’t finish the IR section and just wanted to have a full successful second attempt as it was my last chance before submitting my apps. Thanks!

I just took the GMAT online exam today. The amount of Data Sufficiency questions was SHOCKING. There were so many of them, I have never experienced having so many DS questions in any of the 7 practice exams I took. Did anyone else notice this and you think there's a reason for this? I believe my score will differ from the ones on the Practice exams a lot due to the unexpected PS/DS ratio.

Hey jessmur1, can you shed some light on this? Did you see anything like this on the Online test and on the Centre-based test?

Only you can shed light on this man as you have recently encountered both the exams :)

Hi everyone, I am 100% sure you already answered this several times, though am not being able to find where.

If I re-take GMAT online (already took once on July), does this count toward my lifetime and year attempts limit?

Did the one I took on July count on my lifetime limit?

Hello everyone;

I have a physical whiteboard with two sides, the first is blanc but the second has the Bic's logo and is gridded. Is this whiteboard ok on the test day?

I took the GMAT online this past weekend and during the verbal section the test froze on the last 4 questions which were part of an RC. My time left went from 4minutes and change to 1 minute and 10 seconds after they unfroze the exam causing me to guess on the last 4 which definitely impacted my score. I reported the incident to Pearson and they've created a case.

Has anyone had any similar scenarios and what the outcome was after the investigation?

I recently took the exam and had two instances where the proctor interrupted the exam without stopping the clock. During the quant section, Skype tried to run an update and so the proctor relaunched the entire Pearson VUE application. In the middle of the verbal section, the proctor asked me to adjust the camera but was unresponsive when I asked if the adjustment was okay. In both occasions the proctor let the clock continue to run without letting me look at the exam. Did you hear back after reporting? I was conflicted on reporting because I did lose a couple of minutes from both incidents. Had no idea this would happen during the online exam.

Good point! Knowing that these proctors administer multiple tests, and often proven to be unaware of GMAT‘s policies, my guess is they would be unwilling to mess with time.

I am sorry to hear about the interruptions. I really am. Yet, being super objective and neutral, also sounds like these types of events were not a system fault or in another way that proctor would have to adjust the test. I don’t know why they have re-launched the entire test. That seemed to be a bit excessive... But maybe that is their standard procedure. We don’t have much information. In any case, I’m sorry to hear about the experience. Fingers crossed that you got a great score.

PS.
You definitely want to shut down all resident messengers and applications and make sure the windows update does not pop up....
