Hi Amirfunc,

While there are certain aspects to Test Day that you can really only learn by taking realistic, FULL-LENGTH CATs, once you've learned those things, it's important to remember that taking lots of CATs will NOT make you a better Test Taker. A CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not. As such, you really shouldn't take more than 1 FULL CAT per week.

1) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
2) Did you take the FULL CAT each time (with the Essay and IR sections)/
3) What is your goal score?

Hi All,

I'm almost at the end of my preparation and I'm planning to give my GMAT by 29th -30th August 2018.

I have just started giving my practice mocks and have given two Veritas mocks which were the last ones I had and scored 590 and 660. Now I'm not sure as to when should I take the two free GMAT Prep mocks and also if I should buy the EP1 and EP 2.

Should I take one within the next few days so that I can check my approximate score and then work on the weak points or take them at the fag end, maybe a week earlier than the GMAT exam?

Any advice on this would be appreciated as I still have about a month to go. :-)

Regards,
A

Hi
You must take 1 Gmat prep test immediately. It will help you to gauge your exact preparedness. Then analyze that test and work on you weaknesses. I would suggest to take 1 test each week with analysis and work the entire week. The last week should be kept only for revision.
All the best.

souvonik2k Appreciate your inputs

Thanks,

3) What is your goal score?- I'm looking for something between 650-700, preferably in the late 600's

Try to get at least one of the exam packs, so that you have a total of 4 GMATPreps to take this month (including the 2 free ones). Try to prioritize official material during this final stretch before your exam.

Hi Amirfunc,

Your profile shows an Official Score of 510 - so assuming that you took these last 2 CATs in a realistic fashion that matches up with what you'll face on Test Day, then you have made some really nice improvements so far - and it certainly appears that you have the necessary skills needed to hit your Score Goal on Test Day. That having been said, it's important to note that the GMAT will always give you the score that you EARN - so just because you scored 660 on this recent CAT does not necessarily mean that you will score higher on your next CAT - unless you do the work to earn that higher Score.

With the time that you have remaining, you should plan to take 3-4 additional CATs (about 1 per week). Once you have your next CAT Score, you should post back and we discuss the results.
