I love that you got 54 and 53, which are impossible on the real GMAT.

Haha really? I got a V55 on my last Kaplan, oh well.

Hopefully I'll be able to add some to this discussion soon, taking the test June 1st. So far:

5/6 Kaplan Practice Test: 650, Q40 V43
5/9 Kaplan CAT 1: 630, Q40 V37
5/16 Kaplan CAT 2: 680, Q38 V52
5/22 Kaplan CAT 3: 710, Q38 V55
5/25 GMATPrep 1: 730, Q47 V44

So, feeling pretty good, but the discrepancy between Kaplan and GMATPrep in terms of Q/V spread makes me a little nervous. The score calculator is predicting a crazy 760 (I'm good with stress), which I'd love to believe, but a little skeptical. But hey, if GMATPrep is the most accurate, hopefully I'll be able to replicate a score like that on GMATPrep 2 and sail into test day.

Regardless, super helpful site and forum!

I think there should be an option to remove a particular vendor from this tool, in case one has not taken that vendor's test. For example, I didn't take the free CAT by TPR, and so kept its level at 200 in this tool (see screenshot). I fed the remaining fields of this tool with correct data and it *still* estimated my GMAT score precisely. What's up with this?

If the level is at 200 for any particular vendor-test, it's not taken into account in the calculation.

Great tool. It estimated my score as 730. Lets hope I get that in GMAT next week. Fingers crossed...

What about replacing Princeton Review with VeritasPrep? PR's algorithm, IMO, is not up to the par. Any opinion, bb?

Thanks! I think it would be good to add it as another slider/option. I may need to contact the designers about that.... any others?

I've been using this tool regularly, and think the scoring is flawed when it comes to kaplan scores. I think the tool has been for quite a few years and needs a serious update.
I've been scoring consistently well on kaplan, but my scores on gmat prep and manhattan have been much lower (60-70). Not just on the basis my scores, but on the quality of the tests too.
MGMAT tests and even the GMAT Prep have a much higher level of difficulty than the kaplan tests. I'd suggest consider getting down the score estimates by atleast 60-70 for the kaplan tests. They are way way way too easy.
Hope this helps.

For the next version of this software, I think it would be helpful to publish an n-size for each of the tests. For those of us nerds out there, it would really help gauge the accuracy of the predictions.

You have to use the latest one or average if you feel that you need to include both (if you had an unusual situation you want to smooth out).

Thank you - that's a great suggestion!
There are quite a few data points but we clean up the DB and usually only use the last 12 months (to accommodate the changes any of the test prep companies have made to their algorithms)... each test has usually around 200 data points.

When was the Princeton Review option replaced? Still mentions it in the explanation above the tool, maybe that should be removed. Any reason for the decision?

Hey,

Thanks for the tool.

1) Any chance of getting Master GMAT / Economist GMAT Tutor scores on here?

2) I think there may be an error in the algorithm; I was playing around with it and when in the lower range, changing from performing Poorly ---> Well under exam conditions actually lowered the score!

Is the Kaplan logic updated now?

I find Kaplan Quants easier than GMAT Prep and Kaplan Verbal difficult than GMAT Prep. Anyone else shares the same view?
