Does anyone know of a study or any concrete research on how much a GMAT score corresponds to success during business school? For example, does the difference between 700 and 750 really matter? Granted a school has bragging rights for accepting the higher school and increases their stats, but are they actually getting a better student or someone that just tests well?

For you sports fans, rarely does the top performing athletes at the pre-draft NFL combine actual become successes on the gridiron.

Well, I guess I’ll get back to studying now.

The GMAT is not specifically designed to measure success in business school (or elsewhere). That there is some amount of correlation is a result of other factors associated with the test that are incidental.

The testmakers will sometimes use this correlation as justification for the use of the test. But the fact remains that the test is _not_ intended to measure any of these events.
