Hi gurpreetsmakhija,

Without Discipline and a set study plan, Preparation for GMAT starts taking longer than required. After sometime it becomes a little boring to go over the same things from scratch. It is better you work on Planning, prioritizing, taking the right course and most importantly start READING and doing RC every single day if your are not an avid reader. Please see my post at following URL to understand how you can better channelize your energy and utilize time better.

Hi gurpreetsmakhija,

From your post, it's not clear whether you've taken any FULL-LENGTH practice CATs yet, but if you've been studying for 1.5 months, then you really MUST take a FULL-LENGTH CAT (including the Essay and IR sections) sometime soon. That initial diagnostic CAT is important - it helps to define your strengths and weaknesses and gives you a basis for comparison as you continue to study. Most Test Takers are not happy with that first CAT result, but that's not a big deal - the extra months of available study time are there so that you can IMPROVE on this initial practice result. Once you have that score result, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

Hello Rich.

I took Test just to understand the process of Test and to understand types of questions, i was not expecting good score in mock and received 300 only this was a beggining and before any preprations , with this test i got awareness how is the structure of Test , timings and a time we should focus on each questions.

To improve i am focusing on clue cards , SC questions , what i understand practiting more and more questions can imporve the doubts.

I will wait for the study plan.

Gurpreet

Hi gurpreetsmakhija,

If you've truly been studying for the last 1.5 months, then you really MUST take FULL-LENGTH CATs at regular intervals. This is the only way to truly track your progress. As such, you should plan to take a new CAT soon. Make sure to take the FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections) in a realistic fashion. Once you have that score result, you should post back here. Until we have that information, we have no way of knowing whether your studies have been effective so far or not - and what you'll need to work on going forward.

Hello! I am not an expert but I have a very important piece of advice. It's crucial that you study every single day. From my personal experience, if you give pauses and let's say study for several days and then take a break for two days and then study again , it is going to harm your score. So, to me, the key to a good GMAT score is studying every day. You can do even several problems if you don't have more time, but keep doing it every day until you pass the exam. Hope you get the grade you wish for!
