Re: GMAT Study Plan - How to Start your GMAT Prep [#permalink]
Hello All,

This is my first post on GMATClub forum. :) *very excited*

I am planning to take GMAT in early Jan 2016 and targeting 720+ .

About 1 month back, I took the GMAT Prep 1 mock and scored 620 (QA: 47  , VA: 29 :!: ).

Here is my incomplete study plan till now:
1. Give GMAT Prep 1 mock - done.
2. Start with OG (after reading bb's post, I am wondering why is that wrong  ).
3. Start practicing questions and give mock/full-length tests.

To be honest, I know I can get there, but don't know how. :(

Please help.

Hi All,

How is penalized if all the questions are not answered? How is it gauged? For ex, 35/41 in verbal or 32/37 in quant..

Hello everyone, I just took my economist simulation exam and I got a 470. I am not aiming for the highest score since I only have 2 more months to prepare the exam. What strategy advice would you give me to improve in my weak areas which are quant and reading comprehension. My exam date is on the 7th of December and I hope I can get more than 500! Please help I would like to have a precise GMAT strategy starting from today. Thanks everyone!

Thanks! I am aiming for more than 500 in the score for the GMAT but I need to improve my reading comprehension and my quant. I will order Manhattan and a book to improve my data sufficiency question.

Hey Teerthj.

Why did you booked your GMAT so early? Do you have any deadlines?

Hi moderator,
I am appearing for a re-test. The big day is exactly 1 month from now. I am still scoring between 550 to 650. My target score is 650+. I realized I am making many silly mistakes during my practice tests (free tests available).

I want to buy more tests but confused which ones are the best, which would replicate the real GMAT. I know questions would not be same but the format and the pace should math the GMAT test. I guess you got my point that I am really confused on this mater. Kindly solve this issue of mine.

Hello,

This would be my first attempt at giving GMAT. Have booked my exam for March'16.
I am an average student but my aim is to get 750+.

I have read multiple blogs and forums and i am currently confused about selecting the right resources.

Could someone please help me and guide me with the right books and resources required for 750+.
And a study plan that actually worked for you.

Thanks and regards. :)

Hi! I am on the same page , but my test is in February and I have been studying for 3 months already.
I would suggest you to do diagnostic test from GMAC, its called GMATPrep and see your score, strengthen vs weaknesses.
I had to study all Math and Verbal basics, and used Manhattan GMAT books. So it took me about a month to understand essentials.
Also to understand Probability I purchased Veritas Prob-ty book, very helpful!

After that I used these:
Manhattan 6 practice tests
GMAC Official Quiz pack and Exam pack
Gmatclub subscribtion to practice tests and questions.

So far I can see very good progress - from 390 to 580 for 3 months, and I have two more months to improve.
Let me know what works the best for you.

One thing I would emphasize is how quickly procrastination time goes by. It is way too easy to begin studying with 3 months left, take a short break, and resume studying with only weeks left. On the one hand, it seems like one month is plenty of time to study for just a single test, but after really starting, you realize that you have a LOT to cover and begin panicking. I know that's the case with me. 2 months ago I thought I had an eternity to study, but a couple of days ago I realized I am screwed and wish I had more time. :(

hi!!

I am also preparing for GMAT. I downloaded some score800dotcom flash tests. I dont see any explanations for the quant section. Can some one tell me where i can find the explanations...
