Hi,
My name is Syeda Sana Shah Bukhari.
Now the problem I always face with such a long name is that sometimes I use "Syed Sana Ali Shah", sometimes I use "Sana Bukhari", and in some places in use "Sana Bukhari".
In my university days I used to use the name "Sana Shah", however, in the last few years I have been using the name "Syeda Sana Bukhari" as my First and Last Name, which is also the name on my passport.
So while registering for the GMAT test, I mistakenly entered by Name as "Sana Shah", but my profile as "Syeda Sana Shah".
When I got the confirmation email from GMAT (mba. com) and saw my name as "Syeda Sana Shah", I realised that I should have entered it as "Syeda Sana Bukhari" (the name on my passport).
So, I sent out an email to the GMAT people, asking them to change my name to from "Syeda Sana Shah" to "Syeda Sana Bukhari" to match the name of my passport. I got a confirmation from them in a couple of days that the name as been successfully changed. I opened up my profile on mba. com and to my relief it was also changed there as well.
HOWEVER, my exam is tomorrow (Saturday), and just now I was opening up all the relevant pages so that I can take print-out of them to take along with me to the exam centre as supporting documents etc (not required, but I just wanted to safe), but in the 'My GMAT and Score" section, next to the "Exam Taker" field my name is written as "Sana Shah". My profile still displays the correct name "Syeda Sana Bukhari" but in the exam taker field it says "Sana Shah".
This is really freaking me out, especially as the exam is in less than 12 hours. Do you think this could result in me not being able to sit in the exam?
Anxiously waiting for a response.
Thank you.
If you had sent the copy of your passport and they matched the name, it should be fine. Normally passport should be your proof. So no need to worry now. Just relax you will be fine..
