Hi all,

I've the OG 13th edition. I studied the contents but I need to solve questions online to stimulate real exam experience..

As I'm also a CMA, I used to test banks and they worked very well..

So, what do you guys recommend me to purchase test bank that is not expensive and very close to REAL GMAT EXAM..

You will not find anything close to official exam but these.

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) Have you used any other study materials besides the OG13?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

If you've been studying consistently for 1.5 months, then you really MUST take a FULL-LENGTH CAT (including the Essay and IR sections) sometime soon (perhaps this weekend). You can download 2 CATs for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). That initial diagnostic CAT is important - it helps to define your strengths and weaknesses and gives you a basis for comparison as you continue to study. Most Test Takers are not happy with that first CAT result, but that's not a big deal - the upcoming months of available study time are there so that you can IMPROVE on this initial practice result. Once you've taken that CAT, you should post back here and we can discuss how best to proceed.

Hi Kamel,

In terms of the Practice tests, nothing comes close to the Official GMATPREP. They are the most accurate indicators of your GMAT performance. You should go ahead and purchase the GMAT PREP EP1 and EP2. It is a indeed a good investment.

I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.

Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

If you need some additional practice, you can also purchase the QP1. It has some great questions and will surely help you improve your performance.

Just took the first exam and I'm totally disappointed with my score
330(Q19,V16)

What should I do?

Hi Kamel,

It's understandable that you would be concerned about this score. Raising a 330 to a 600+ will take a significant amount of work - and you'll have to make big improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. Unfortunately, the goal to raise your score 270+ points in the next 2 months or so might be too difficult to be considered realistic, so you might need to push back your anticipated Test Date.

I'd like to know a bit more about how you took this CAT:
1) What time did you begin the CAT?
2) Did you finish all of the sections (or did you run out of time and leave some questions unanswered?)?
3) How many questions in each section did you have to 'guess' on because you did not know the material well enough?

I guessed too and for geometry questions I hadn't memorized any rules. .

Hi Kamel,

Based on what you've described, you did not choose to take this CAT in a realistic way, so I have to wonder how serious you are about this process. Right now, we have no idea what your current 'ability level' actually is (maybe it's a 330, maybe it's something else), so until you take a FULL-LENGTH CAT (with the Essay and IR sections), take it in one sitting and try your best, then it won't be clear what the best Study Plan would be for you.
