Hi!

I submitted GMAT scores to INSEAD already and I'm planning on applying before the November 6th deadline.

I'm also taking the GMAT again on November 8th though. Should I send INSEAD a heads up that a new, and hopefully better, score will be coming? Or is it fine since it'll be reported only 2 days after the deadline (give a take a week for full processing).

I'm mostly concerned about my Quant score and am taking it one more time to increase it. I just want to know if my lower score will get my application reviewed in a negative perspective within a week from the deadline or not. Does that make sense?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I think you should move your test dates before the deadline. Submitting a score just after two days would not be beneficial. You are hoping that the score will be better than before but nobody can take this information seriously. You can talk to admission director of your region and may be they can suggest you further. The school can think, why not 2 days prior. I know, it will incur charges but you can avoid the assumptions and submit application in one go..

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, that was the earliest date that I could take it as I last took it 16 days prior =/. I'll try to get in touch with a representative in the meantime.

I'd suggest you send a mail after you get your score. If you send a mail in advance, then you pretty much have to report your new score even if its worse than the initial one (and I really hope that isn't the case, but better to play it safe). They won't be done with your application evaluation within a couple of days. So if you send in a mail after your test, they should be able to evaluate the application based on the improved score.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the replies.

A representative from the admissions team got back to me and just recommended that I use the optional essay to describe the circumstance and also to explain why I wanted to take the exam a second time. Then after I submit my application, I will be assigned an admissions officer who I can reach out to directly to keep them abreast of when the new score will arrive.

Hope that's helpful for anyone else who may be in a similar predicament.

Thanks again!

Good news for you. I hope you will score at least 20-30 points more than before ;) ;)
