im retaking gmat. they would not send me new cd (since i took it within last year), but i can download gmatprep off web.

i threw cd out. do you know if i download it, i can 'reinstall' it like with a cd so as to get a new crop of questions?

Yessir, you can just select "No" when you load up the test to dump your old answers.

Actually there is one easy way out of this....once you finish exam select "Yes" to keep the results. Then go to "C:\Program Files\GMATPrep\exams" folder (or wherever you have installed the software)
Rename file with .xact extension with say date.... e.g. "Practice Test 2.xact.April25"

After this you can retake the exam again. The exam may show "Incomplete" on the main screen but it will give you new random set of questions. Good thing is you can always rename file and review the right wrong....you can also use score in the extension if that makes it easily recognizable.

This is something I had seen in another post sometime back.

I used the same method as mentioned by kyatin. By the end, I had 6 different copies of the .xact files. By renaming each of the tests, I was able to store them up, and renaming them back allowed me to review my old incorrect answers.

For what it's worth, delete any *.log files as well. I doubt the program reads those but I noticed some difference in the number of repeats.
