Expected Ratio = total defect from S1 to S4 / total Shipment
= (2 + 5 + 6 + 4)/(5k + 12k + 18k + 16K)

= 17/51k

if ship 60k, the defective part should be = 60k x 17/51k = 60/3 = 20 parts

Defect / Total = Sum (defect) for each shipment / Sum (Total) for each shipment.

Hence,

D/T = 1/1000*(2+5+6+4 / 16+18+12+5) = 17/51,000 = 1/3,000

Now we know the next shipment is 60,000

D = 60,000 / 3,000 = 20
