Hello all,
First time poster here. I am concerned about my situation:
Economics Major - SUNY
GPA (Major) 3.9 (Minor) 3.9 (Overall) 3.8
Gmat (attempt 1) 580 33q/36v
Gmat (attempt 2) 590 35q/36v
I am applying to MS Finance/Accounting programs and am not sure if having a good gpa in a fairly quantitative major will make up for my poor gmat score. I am planning on retaking the gmat again but i will not rush into it like I did previously, so I may have to send these as preliminary scores. I would appreciate any thoughts on how I might fare against admissions and what I could do to better improve my chances. Thanks in advance.
Yes, your GPA is great, but I do feel you'll need to boost the GMAT higher for the top MSc in Finance programs. Ideally, I'd like to see it closer to 700 if not over 700 to prove that your academic abilities are transferable to a new program.
