720 - Q48 V42.
Firstly, this a good score and I am aware of it. However, I was expecting to improve on it (I already have a 720 from last year). I've worked very hard on improving my verbal and the 42 is proof of it (last time I had a 40). However, exam day nerves let me down today. I am also disappointed that this breakdown didn't yield a better final score - I've seen scores of 750 with 49-42. Perhaps its karma (last time my breakdown was 48 40 and I still had a 720).
Finally I can't believe I scored a 48 in Q. I've hit 51 on
MGMAT and have hit 30+ on the challenges several times. I am seriously considering a retake in a month's time. I'll clear my head out and think about it in a few days.
Test experienceQuant
It was pretty surreal, doing it a second time. However, some math questions made me somewhat jittery. Also I committed the cardinal sin of not moving on from a certain question in the middle. As a result, I always had half an eye on the clock. Normally I finish 10 mts early. This was not normal, I barely finished on time, and hence the score was not what I expected to be either.
Verbal
Now here is where all the hard work paid off. I had 2 very tricky SCs in the 1st 10. These, I felt, brought by score down, otherwise I could just see through every CR and RC. Also 2 glasses of water in the break was a bad idea. I was busting for a leak by Q21. That might have cost me another point.
In the end, I was gutted with the score. I really felt like all this extra effort was worth nothing. 1000 SC , countless hours at the club, 6 gmatprep takes, 25 Q challenges, 5 V challenges, 6
MGMAT tests all down the drain.
I didn't even feel like putting up a debrief, but all my friends here at the club who've supported me through all of this deserve to know.
