Anyone from R3 heard from them yet?

Hi Could you please let me know if your application status?
Mine says

Your application is ready for review, but we may need additional materials before a final decision can be made. Please read the note below, which indicates what is missing from your application. Please feel free to call or e-mail us if you have any questions regarding these documents.

I see that invites have started going out for round 3 candidates . Any update on application status will be highly useful. Is it true that when adcom start reviewing your application then they actually change the status to something else as reported by few users on this forum?

From what some of the current students (who applied in R3) are telling me, Haas is usually slow with the applications in this round.
So don't lose hope, my good people!! :)
They also told me that they are pretty quick once the interview process starts.

I expect that the majority of R3 interview invites will start from next week and last till the last week of March.

Keep fighting the good fight!

Hi Everyone,

I was admitted in R2 -

Just sharing some tips on the interview. Like what most have mentioned, the interview is generally very casual and conversational.

The common questions are:
1. Walk me through your resume (at various stages the interviewer interjected with questions);
2. How did you demonstrate leadership at this juncture of your career?
3. Why do you want to pursue an MBA? Why now?
4. What are your medium to long term goals, and how do you think Haas fits in with your ideals?

Be sure to keep the interviewer engaged by sharing stories along the way; I found it generally useful to remind myself what he/she would be looking for (i.e. what are the traits he/she would have to qualify about you in the feedback form to Haas!) A smooth pace is important; don't get dislocated if the interviewer interrupts you - try to wrap up your point quickly if it is unfinished, then go straight to answering the question being asked. Also, don't go talking off too much about yourself; it would probably be wise to talk about what you learnt / demonstrated in going through your CV, and not just talk about what you did.

Hope that helps! Good luck.

PS: Am wondering how many pple admitted applied for scholarships? Any word out on these yet?

Does anyone know when R1 and R2 waitlisters from the 2012 application cycle started hearing back relative to the R3 decision date?

Yesterday was the deposit deadline for admitted R2 applicants, so they already know the class size admitted at R1 and R2. I hope we hear something next week

I'm a R1 waitlister who finally got the call yesterday from Stephanie - I'm in!!! From what she said, it sounds like they are revisiting the waitlist and making some decisions as they approach the R3 decision date. Good luck to others on the WL who are waiting to hear back!

Got the same email too. I saw a couple of people on gc who got admission off the WL. Are there any more out there who got the same email or who was released from the waitlist? According to the email Haas released "many" applicants from the waitlist.

I missed a call from Stephanie at 12:30 today. She didn't give me a phone number to call her back at, and my phone didn't register one either. No mention of whether it's good news in her voicemail - just that she'll try me again later.

Does she only call to admit students, or does she call for other reasons too?

Fingers crossed!!

Update: I got a call back, and I'm in!

I was a R3 applicant and I live in California.

Great! Thanks for the heads up... we'll get those updated along with the graphs in the near future :)

The essays were published a few moments ago! One interesting quote:

We replaced our question about "greatest joy" with: "If you could choose one song that expresses who you are, what is it and why?"  Why are we asking this question? It's not a test.  We  hope your answer will reveal something about what makes you who you are.  A piece of advice -- your song doesn't have to be a popular or well-known song, or even a song with lyrics -- pick the song that has meaning for you and make sure we understand why.

Definitely a great question :-)
Good luck to us all!

Great school, but class size is on the low side. That makes for competitive pool. All the best to this year's applicants.

Cheers,
