I'd try process elimination for this one.

If Gretel is 5 years old and Hansel is 7 years older than Gretel then Hansel is 12 years old. 5 times 12 is equal to 60. Therefore, the answer is A

$$h = g + 7$$

$$g ( g + 7 ) = 60$$

Or, $$g^2 + 7g - 60 = 0$$

Or, $$g^2 + 12g - 5g - 60 = 0$$

Or, $$g ( g + 12 ) - 5 ( g + 12 ) = 0$$

Or, $$( g - 5 )( g + 12 ) = 0$$

Or, $$g = 5$$ & $$g = - 12$$

Thus, Gretel is 5 years old, answer must be (A) 5
