I think OA is B as sentence indicates that action started in the past and it still persist.

Must be (E) for correct subjunctive usage and use of fewer to discus countable things.

Hello solikon,

Here the verb suggest is a subjunctive one. So the following sentence structure will adhere to the subjunctive rules.

C. less chemical-based beauty products be bought by consumer

D. consumers are buying fewer chemical-based beauty products

E. consumers buy fewer chemical-based beauty products

Health experts suggest that consumers buy less chemical-based beauty products.

C and E are in subjunctive form:-

C. less chemical-based beauty products be bought by consumer. (I eliminated this option as the verb should be in the base form in case the sentence is in subjunctive form) is this correct way to eliminate this option ?

E. consumers buy fewer chemical-based beauty products. ( As the verb buy is in its base form, so, it follows the subjunctive form and is correct)
