i am restarting to do the exam again (~650ish few years back). I guess some experts prob. suggest you to take a sample exam and then focus on your weaknesses.

hi,

I had taken my GMAT a few days back, i got a 570 with Q(39) and verbal(30), i just got so tensed in the actual test.

Before i took the test i got a 640 and 620 in the gmat prep test, i guess my mistake was i just did the OG11 n did not refer to any other book.I need some help as to how to go about my next attempt.I really have to work hard on verbal, and talking about Quant., in all the practise tests i was getting 46-50, but i felt the questions on the actual test were much harder, or i was just tensed.:P

Books i have: OG11
Manhattan Verbal
Manhattan Quant
Kaplan(CD version)

I need help from all you guys, to achieve my dream of 700+.

Simple recipe to success - you never learn as much as when you try to teach someone. I see you already got involved in the Math/Verbal Questions forums - you are on the right track.

You have a good collection of materials - should be good. One consideration - do not take tests before you cover the books - then start taking full size tests (or cover the verbal or math section first and then take tests for that section only - don't take full tests though)

In your OP you have listed "Manhattan Quant" and Manhattan Verbal". Are these books from "Manhattan Review" or "Manhattan GMAT"?

How do the Manhattan Review books work - there is a study guide (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/097884 ... 0978843509) and solutions guide (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/097884 ... 0978843517)

what's the difference? What is the value of each books? Why not have 2 in one - seems a bit confusing

well the study guide buk...explains all the fundas involved in varios topics, and also gives practise exercises...with only the answer key at the end.

the solutions guide has in depth explanation of all the practise questions in the study guide...

well wat my doubt...is tht the material i have is sufficient or not...coz as of now...im doin quant from KAPLAN...and for SC im doing the 1000SC questions and maintng a log(im refferring to notes by SPIDEY, whch i got frm the club only..)

Unfortunately, I don't know much about Manhattan Review, nor it is very popular overhere in GMAT Club. The only thing I know about this company comes from my experience with some free notes for SC. That was some kind of Sentence Correction review and asn't bad at all. If the rest of material is similar to those SC notes it should be fine.

Of course, we expect some detailed review of their material from you, once you have finished your study. Maybe we already have some thread with this material covered, but you should be among the first users of Manhattan Review in this forum.

I am not sure about the MReview books, but most folks here use Manhattan SC/Manhattan CR or PowerScore SC/PowerScore CR - those are the best but buy only one of each as they are very close in terms of content.

You can get Manhattan RC as well.

Each Manhattan book comes with 6 tests online (there are 6 total), so you will have that added benefit.

about gmatclub tests - those are for 650/700+ applicants (Q45+) - you still have a bit to go. They will be too tough for you right now.

Absolutely - same books.
You can also get them in Borders of B&N but that's hit and miss as they usually carry just one copy and often 3rd edition rather than 4th.

Make sure you are buying the right books because all of the above show in stock on Amazon.
