because in the first paragraph there is nothing related to a theory

DBB.
I think I understand why the answer to second question is E and not B.
Its not the historian who adapts/reverts to the anthropological notion of individuality during Renaissance, rather the author interprets the historian's findings to be more in line with the anthropological perspective.
