ARCO may be a little dangerous... a few people have indicated in our materials survey (see surveys) that their books are not very helpful.
Also, you can see reviews for the book in the books section.
I used arco and it was not very productive.
You can try PowerPrep (you can download it) and it will be pretty close (within 20-30 points, which is the standard deviation for a person on the GMAT)
Yeah... I noticed your survey and was a little surprised. I actually find the ARCO book quite useful and informative, but I'm just simply not sure about the accuracy of their practice tests i.e. based on my test results, it seems much easier to get over 700 than I had originally thought.
Anyway, I have the GMAT official powerprep software, and I'll probably pick up the Kaplan book in a week or two. Hopefully by the time I get through all of them I'll be perfectly ready.
BTW, congratulations on an excellent site, I'm sure you'll be getting many hits in the near future. Also, I noticed you did quite well on your GMAT....how long did you perpare for it?

Kaplan is a good choice, generally, since they have pretty tough questions.
It took me around 3-4 months to prepare but I set up times for studying - several hours a day. I was reading books in the evening before going to bed and I was studying on the weekends. On average I spent around 10-14 hours a week studying. I had only Kaplan and Princeton books. I did not even have
the Official Guide, which I think is the reason I scored only 750
Just kidding.
Actually, I got bogged down on a probability problem which was #12.
and you may notice that neither Kaplan nor Princeton give any probability problems (might have changed since last year with Princeton).
I will tell you a secret: By the end of my prep I was so annoyed with GMAT that I stopped taking tests and just reviewed things. I hated the tests but I liked the practice problems (both math, CR, and SC, NOT Reading).
