How do top school evaluate test re-takes? [#permalink]

Took the GMAT today and scored lower than expected.
Looking to re-take for a better score, so I'll have a shot at one of the top 10 schools. Does anyone know how the tops schools look at multiple test scores? (i.e. average the scores, give more weight to the best score, etc.?)

Thanks in advance for any replies...

Hi,

I've been through this. The top schools all take the best score, except Dartmouth, which takes the highest verbal and highest quant.
Here's the list of schools I checked with when I pondered re-taking.

Good luck.

Yale
Stanford
Berkeley
Michigan
Duke
Dartmouth
Columbia
Northwestern
Harvard
Wharton

Hi,

As I recall, Chicago also takes the highest score and UCLA asks the candidate to designate which score to use.

Of course, the candidate should confirm which schools use the highest school on an individual basis.
