We don't call "guess". When doing CR, your goal is the "phrase" the answer (i.e. have an idea of what you're looking for.

Some have also said diagramming helps.

It's not about guessing. Understand the paragraph. Then one should clearly understand the question. Eliminate the wrong ones using POE and u will arrive on the answer.

For every question type, there are different strategies to answer them.
