I having been searching for posts (in vain) on how to effectively increase one's speed while answering questions in the Quant section.

Just to preface, I consider my math skills to be above average - have consistently gotten A's in all my stats, econ, calc, finance courses in college (top 20 in the States) and even work w/ numbers for a living.

With that said, I have been plagued with running out of time at about the 31st or 32nd question in the Quant section - having to resort to blind guessing on 5-6 questions that remain as time runs out to complete the 37 questions. I have gone from high 30's (Q39 on the Official Gmat) to about mid 40's (the highest i got is 46) in the Quant section on practice tests, but this has been mostly the result of getting a larger proportion of the first 32 questions right. I still can't finish the damn Quant test.

Any strategies? I know that all questions count equally as much (none of this 1st 10 count more so than other questions nonsense). I've also read that it matters which question you get wrong. I know that my major problem is getting hung up on 2-3 hard problems b/c i know i can solve it but it takes me like 3-4 mins. Is it better to invest just the 2 mins and take a educated guess and move on?
