You cannot solve this one with venn diagram (or it's not the best solution)

take a look at this table. you can see that the info given are not sufficient to solve the question. Answer is clearly E.

In the venn diagram you must consider the people who are neither employed nor students also. No information provided about that, hence answer E.

The answer is straight E. Even when taken together we have:

{Total} = {Students} + {Employed} - {Both} + {Neither} --> we want to calculate: {Both}, # of employed students.

{42} = {24} + {29} - {Both} + {Neither} --> {Both} = 11 + {Neither}, since we don't know # of people who are neither employed nor students, we can not answer the question.
