How many seconds will it take for a car that is traveling at a constant rate of 45 miles per hour to travel a distance of 220 yards? (1 mile=1,760 yards)

A. 8
B. 9
C. 10
D. 11
E. 12

1 mile = 1760 yards
220 yards = 220/1760 = 0.125 miles

.125 = 45* t
t = .125/45 hrs
t= .125 * 3600/45
t = 10 sec

rate = 45 miles / hr

rate in sec = 45 /3600 miles/sec

Distance in miles 220 yards,

1 mile = 1760 yards
1 yard = 1/1760
220 yards = 220 /1760 yards

t = Distance / speed
= \(\frac{220}{1760} * \frac{3600}{45}\)

= 10

Rate = 45 kms/ hour

Or, \(\frac{45}{3600}\) kms/second ----- (I)

Distance = 220 yards

Or, \(\frac{220}{1760}\)miles -------(II)

Time = \(\frac{45}{3600}*\frac{1760}{220}\)

Solving this we get ,

Time = 10 seconds
